Can I put a video capture card into any PCI slot in my computer?

I just bought a tv tuner Pci Card Phillips 7130 to make machinimas using halo3 and I cant seem to fit the card into the only open slot and i was wondering does the audio, video, and cable plug in slots need to be showing?|||make sure your trying to put it in a PCI slot and not a PCI-express slot, thats all i can think of, sorry =/|||Sounds like you got the wrong card or the wrong slot for the card.
