Can a motherboard with an AGP slot and a PCI-E slot support dual video cards?

Or are there only special motherboards that can support dual video cards? do they have to have the same amount of RAM?|||Dual as in xfire or SLI? Im certain that you would most likely need two pcie cards of the same variety (yes same video memory) for it to work properly.
