Can you have two PCI graphic cards on the same system and will that increase my video memory?

first off , this is PCI , not PCI express. I have currently an ATI 9200 card with 256mb of video memory. if i bought another with 256mb and put it in another pci slot , would they both share video memory? meaning would i get 512? and does it have to be the same exact card from the same company?|||you can have multiple video cards but each card will only be used to drive it's own screen

The memory will not be shared if you use only one card for video and the other for memory as you suggest.|||no they wont share it. and yes you will have to buy the same card. but not from the same company just the same card.|||this only works if you run them in crossfire. as far as I know
